Ordoño IV of León

Ordoño IV of evil (* 926 in Córdoba, † 962) was the son of King Alfonso IV of León and nephew of Ramiro II of León. He was King of León from 958 to 960, he broke the reign of Sancho I of León for two years.

Ordoño won the throne with the help of Count Fernan Gonzalez of Castile, whose daughter he married, and the support of the Castilian and Galician nobility. When he ascended the throne in 958, he married Urraca, daughter of the Count of Castile. The marriage remained childless. However, he was already 960 sold by the intervention of the King of Navarre from the throne.

After the loss of his throne, he fled to Asturias and then to Burgos. There he left his wife and so lost the support of the Castilian court. He was forced to turn to the Caliph of Cordoba, which, however, never occurred to him until his death to help.
