Oregon Health & Science University

The Oregon Health & Science University OHSU is a government medical college in Portland, Oregon. The university with the main campus and located on two university hospitals the largest employer in Portland. A secondary campus is located in Hillsboro. A close cooperation is in the field of teaching with universities in the Oregon University System instead.
History
The forerunner of today's University was founded in 1867, Willamette University, School of Medicine in Salem. The Willamette University and the University of Oregon in 1913 combined their medical education to the University of Oregon schools of Medicine, Dentistry, and Nursing. In 1974, the faculties to a stand-alone, independent of the University of Oregon University under the name University of Oregon Health Sciences Center were then united. Renamed in 1981 in Oregon Health Sciences University, she was united in 2001 under union with the OGI School of Science and Engineering for today's university.
