The Örekilsälven (also Kvistrumsån ) is a river in the Swedish province of Västra Götaland County.
The Örekilsälven has its source south of Dals - Ed. From there, the river over a length of 70 km in the direction southsouthwest by the historic provinces of Bohuslän and Dalsland flows. It flows through the lake Kärnsjön and the small town Munkedal before it opens into the Saltkällefjorden in the inner part of the Gullmarn, a fjord on the Skagerrak coast. The largest tributary is the Munkedalsälven, the front of the mouth of the Örekilsälven into the sea meets this coming from the east 5 km. The catchment area of 1340.2 km ² comprises Örekilsälven. The average discharge at the mouth is 22 m³ / s
