Oren Peli

Oren Peli (Hebrew אורן פלי; born 1970 in Israel) is an Israeli- American game programmer and filmmaker.

Life

Peli 1990 came from Israel to the USA and works as a programmer for video games. He was involved among other things in games like Mortal Kombat 3 ( Midway Games, 1995). He then worked for Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE ) associated with development teams 989 Studios ( in the Games NFL Xtreme, 1998 and MLB 2004, 2003 ) and SCE Studios San Diego ( to MLB 08: The Show, 2008).

In addition to his work he turned in 2006 at his home in San Diego with a Sony HD camera his first feature film Paranormal Activity. The film cost Peli and Jason Blum its producers only $ 11,000, the rotation time was seven days and the post-production took one year. In October 2007, the independent production on the Screamfest Festival celebrated its premiere and ran after the Sundance Film Festival had rejected the film in January 2008 at the Sundance competition event Slamdance.
