Orhan MiroÄŸlu

Orhan Miroglu ( born in Midyat ) is a politician and writer in Turkey. In the 2007 General Election he stood as an independent candidate, the Bin Umut Adayları for the province of Mersin and just missed a place in the National Assembly.

Orhan Miroglu spent his youth in Batman and Diyarbakır and participated in the youth movements of the seventies and eighties. After the coup on 12 September 1980 he was arrested and convicted in the trial of the TKsp (Türkiye Partisi Kürdistanı Sosyalist today PSC) to 15 years in prison. 1988 release from prison, he survived on September 20, 1992, Diyarbakır seriously injured the murder of Musa Anter. At the end of his political activity ban 1995 he committed since 1999, first in HADEP, DEHAP and finally the DTP. He writes in radical İki, Ülkede Özgür Gündem, Özgür Politika, Birgün and Taraf.

In 1997 he is as a witness in Movies Close up - to see Yüksel Yavuz Kurdistan.

Orhan Miroglu is married and has two children.
