Orontius (crater)

92.94

Orontius is an impact crater in the southern lunar front side, south of the Mare Nubium, northeast of the crater Tycho and west of Nasireddin. The crater is heavily eroded and the crater rim twice superimposed (east of Huggins and west by Sasse Rides A), which is why he is unremarkable, despite a diameter of about 90 kilometers.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 by the French mathematician and cartographer Oronce Finé.
