The list of local districts of Frankfurt contains the names of 16 local districts of the city with its inhabitants, Area, population density and the mayor. The population figures refer to 31 December 2008 ( main and secondary residences ).

A local district provides in Frankfurt, the largest or highest sectional unit of the urban area dar. It often consists of several districts. It may also happen that some parts of the city lie in several local districts. The local districts have mainly political importance, as they have their own local parliaments, local councils so-called, and each having a mayor. The residents of Frankfurt, however, identify themselves less by their belonging to a local district, but rather about their district, representing the classical division unit.
