Ortstock
Ortstock of Braunwald from
The Ortstock is a double peak in the Glarus Alps in Switzerland and the mountain of the car-free resort Braunwald. The western, rear summit ( 2'716, 5 m above sea level. M. ) is because of its easy accessibility from Braunwald from a popular destination, while the front peak ( 2'703 m above sea level. M. ) is experienced mountaineers reserved.
Location
The Ortstock is connected to the southwest with the Jegerstöcken. Sited in the north- west is the Höch tower.
Due to its largely free-standing position of the Ortstock offers a great panoramic view, among other things, Braunwald, Glarus Grosstal, the Limmerensee and the Klausen Pass.
Routes to the summit
The easiest route is from Braunwald via the Braunwald - or Brächalp to Bergetenseeli and Bärentritt for leek ground. Following the path meshing it now rises from the Furggele and thence southeast to the summit.
