The Osaka Dome (Japanese大阪 ドーム, Osaka domU ), officially since 2006 Kyocera Dome Osaka (京 セラドーム 大阪, Kyosera Domu Osaka ), is a baseball stadium in the district of Nishi Osaka, Japan. The stadium, which was opened on 1 March 1997, is the home ground of the Orix Buffaloes from one of the two professional baseball leagues in Japan, the Pacific League and the Osaka Gold Villicanes from the Kansai Independent Baseball League. During the Summer Koshien (夏の甲子園, natsu no Koshien ), the main national high school baseball tournament which will be held in Koshien Stadium, the home games of the Hanshin Tigers of the Central League are played in Kyocera Dome.

Use

The Osaka Dome is primarily used for baseball games and concerts. The Kintetsu Buffaloes of the Pacific League contributed since the opening from 1997 to 2004 their home games at the stadium from. In the 2005 season, and since 2007 regularly is the stadium of their successor Orix Buffaloes team, which also compete in the Pacific League, used. Since the 2009 season, the Osaka Gold Villicanes play from the newly formed professional Kansai Independent Baseball League at the Dome.

Among the most famous musicians and bands who gave concerts at Osaka Dome, including Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Beyoncé, Celine Dion, The Rolling Stones, Eagles, Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Billy Joel, Madonna, The Police and L' Arc ~ en ~ Ciel.

The operating company Osaka City Dome is one of 90 % Orix Fudosan KK (English Orix Real Estate Corp.. ), which in turn is 100% ORIX KK belongs (English Orix Corp.).
