The Technical University of Osaka (Japanese大阪 工业 大学, Ōsaka Kōgyō daigaku, Eng Osaka Institute of Technology, in short. Daikōdai (大 工 大), Hankōdai (阪 工 大) or OIT ) is a private university in Japan. The main campus is situated in Asahi -ku, Osaka.

History

The history of the University began in 1922 as a technical school Kansai (关 西 工 学 専 修 学校, Kansai Kogaku Senshu Gakko ). The school corporation founded in 1940, the Higher Technical School Kansai (关 西 高等 工业 学校, Kansai Kōtō Kōgyō Gakko ), the 1944 pilot Setsunan (摂 南 工业 専 门 学校, Setsunan Kōgyō Semmon Gakko; Setsunan means the south of the province Settsu ) has been renamed.

In April 1949, she then became the Technical University Setsunan (摂 南 工业 大学, Setsunan Kōgyō daigaku ) and in October 1949 the Institute of Technology in Osaka with three departments ( Civil Engineering, Architecture and Electrical Engineering ). In 1965 she founded the Graduate School and in 1967 she received the right to award doctorates. The college then founded more schools: information science (1996) and Intellectual Property ( 2003).

Now bears the education corporation Josho Gakuen (学校 法人 常 翔 学园) three universities: the Technical University of Osaka, the Setsunan University (摂 南 大学, founded in 1975 ) and the International University of Hiroshima (広 島 国际 大学, founded in 1998 ).
