Settsu Province

Settsu ( Jap.摂 津 国Settsu no kuni ), Tsu (津 国Tsu no kuni ) province, or Sesshū (摂 州) was an old province of Japan and after the Gokishichidō classification one of the interior provinces ( Kinai ). She lay in the eastern part of today Hyōgo Prefecture and the northern part of Osaka Prefecture.

Osaka and the castle Osakajo were the centers of the province. In the Sengoku period, ruled the Miyoshi clan Settsu and the neighboring provinces of Izumi and Kawachi, until they were conquered by Oda Nobunaga. The provinces were then dominated by Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
