OSC Bremerhaven

The OSC Bremerhaven is a sports club in Germany with over 4000 members for Aikido, American Football, Badminton, Basketball, Billiards, Cheerleading, Fitness, Recreational Sports, Football, Handball, Judo, Jiu -Jitsu, Ju-Jitsu, Karate, Athletics, Marching band, shooting, dancing, tennis, table tennis, triathlon, gymnastics and volleyball. In addition, the club offers a comprehensive course program for non-members. The home of the association is the North Sea Stadium in the north of Bremerhaven. In addition to the stadium still exist two artificial turf fields, a tennis court and an outdoor area for recreational sports on the shuffleboard, bowling, summer curling and chess can be played. Also, several halls are affiliated to the stadium, where almost all sports can be performed. Since 2010, the Great Hall has a wind-up seat grandstand, see the up to 300 people a place. The directly affiliated bathroom 3 is used as the only competition pool in Bremerhaven by the departments of the association.

History

In 1972 by the merger of Bremerhaven clubs the founding of the United Association OSC Bremerhaven. These included sorted by creation date

  • TVB ( Turnverein Bremerhaven ) of 1859 as the predecessor of the ATSB club, which was founded by Justus Lion and 64 men in 1859;
  • TuS Bremerhaven 93 of 1893 came about in 1974;
  • The ATSB (General Gymnastics and Sports Club Bremerhaven ) of 1919 was co-founder of the OSC;
  • PSV ( Police Sports Club ( Lower Weser ) ) of 1923 was co-founder of the OSC;
  • JC ( Judo Club ) Bremerhaven in 1955 merged in 1975;
  • TGC " Blue Gold" Bremerhaven from 1955
  • The first German -American Sports and Football Club Bremerhaven Seahawks in 1979 merged in 1987
  • The first BSV ( billiard sports club Bremerhaven ) 1988 came with 1988;

The predecessor organization, the TVB, was founded in 1859 as the first gymnastics club on the lower Weser. This led later to the ATSB. On July 10, 1974 all the athletes came from the famous TuS Bremerhaven 93 for OSC - with the exception of Ligaelf. The 93er played three more years and secured promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. Then they entered the OSC and the football team played as OSC in 1977/ 78 in the 2nd Bundesliga. However, they rose in the same season as the 19th back to the Oberliga from. On the same principle it ran in the 1979/80 season, when the club reached only the 18th place and thus descent. Today ( June 2011) played by the club in Bremen-Liga. Since the 2009/2010 season the team got a new marketing concept the name REDS, which comes from the red club colors here. The logo of the REDS is the cardinal bird.

Youth

The first youth teams ages play in the upper regions of the leagues with:

  • In the Regionalliga Nord is the C- youth.
  • In the fifth division are the A and the B- youth as well as the B-, C- and D- girls teams
  • In the city league, the D -, E-, and F- youth

Polar Bears Dance Team

The semi- professional dance team of ladies is known beyond the borders of Bremerhaven. Among the acquired titles and highlights include:

  • The 2007 European Championship
  • The 2008 European Championship in Dance Production
  • The state and regional championship in Hip Hop in 2008
  • The finals at the World Championships in Orlando, Florida in 2007
  • Dance Team as the national basketball team led by Dirk Nowitzki
  • As a framework for the Harlem Globetrotters, at the Davis Cup and at Werder Bremen.
