OSI Group

The OSI Group is an international network of companies and production sites of the food industry, headquartered in Aurora ( Illinois). Chairman and CEO Sheldon Lavin.

OSI is a provider in 75 countries, the main supplier of McDonald's group for meat products.

OSI was founded in 1909 by German-born Otto Kolschowsky as a small family in Chicago. 1917 it expanded its activities to the wholesale of meat products and was eventually renamed in 1928 in Otto & Sons. OSI was founded in 1955 working as a supplier to the first McDonald's restaurant in Chicago, Illinois, renamed in 1975 in OS Industries and expanded its activities to the 90s to Europe, Asia and Australia.

Today The OSI Group provides products and services to 85 % of McDonald's restaurants in over 75 countries and is a striking example of the increasing internationalization of commodity flows in international business with food.

In Western Europe, the Group operates 13 production and supplies claims to 11 markets in Central and Eastern Europe 7 manufacturing plants and 19 markets.

In Germany the group as OSI International Holding GmbH among the divisions OSI Food Solutions Germany (formerly Esca Food Solutions, Esca GmbH & Co. KG ) and FOODWORKS in Günzburg is active. German production sites can be found in Günzburg, Bavaria, Bad Iburg and Duisburg.

In addition to McDonald's, the company also supplies under several trademarks in the German retail.
