The forested mountain is located in the Bavarian district of Miltenberg. The donkey trail, a medieval trade route, now a scenic trail, passes through the Ospis. It is located about 2 km south of the forest recreation area " Sohlhöhe " (above Röllbach ) and about 3 km northeast of the Franciscan monastery of Engelberg. The summit marks the highest point of the district Großheubach.

Since 2007 there is a walled summit cross.
