Otakar Jeremiáš

Otakar Jeremiáš ( born October 17, 1892 in Pisek, † March 5, 1962 in Prague) was a Bohemian composer.

The brother of Jaroslav Jeremiáš was from 1918 to 1928 director of a music school in Budweis. By 1945, he conducted the orchestra of the Prague Radio Symphony and then was conductor at the National Theatre in Prague.

He composed two operas ( The Brothers Karamazov, 1922-27 and Eulenspiegel, 1937-47 ), two symphonies, one suite, an overture and a fantasy for orchestra, chamber music, drama and film music, choral works and songs.
