Otto I (bishop)

Otto I of funds (c. 1194; † September 1, 1215 ) was Bishop of Utrecht.

The son of Count Otto I of funds was raised in 1212 through the influence of his relatives on the episcopal throne. At this time he was only 18 years old and had not yet been reached the canonical age. He could not acquire the papal dispensation for this before it three years later, in 1215, died. He had been provost in Xanten and seems to have done during his short little guide for his diocese to have the contrary favored by the award of tithes to his brother, the Earl of funds, rather his house as his pen.
