Otto Lang (actor)
Otto Lang ( born August 24, 1906 in Frankfurt am Main, † 24 June 1984) was a German actor and high school teachers.
Life
Long learned on the Frankfurt drama school, he had engagements in Remscheid, Herford, Frankfurt am Main and Bamberg. In 1933 he joined the NSDAP .. From 1934 to 1939 he worked in Hildesheim and then was gamemaster in Gliwice.
After 1945 he became a member of the KPD / SED. and taught from 1947 at the Deutsches Theater Institute Weimar. From 1953 to 1958 he was rector of the Higher School of Theatre Leipzig. From 1958 to 1973 he served as Director of the German National Theatre Weimar. He was since 1958 a member and later Vice- President of the German Shakespeare Society.
