Otto Staiger
Otto Staiger (born 3 September 1894 in Basel, † September 5, 1967 ) was a Swiss painter and glass artist. He dedicated his work to the watercolor and woodcut.
Life
He was a member of the group red-blue, later a founding member of the Basel group 33 Kunsthalle Basel is dedicated to him in 1965 with Charles Dick and Charles Hindenlang an exhibition.
In 1911, he made glass painting in Basel. 1919 to 1922 he worked in Geneva with the painter Hans Stocker, there he turned away from the traditional dark-toned painting. In 1922 he moved to Besazio in Ticino. In 1925 he joined the group of red-blue, which also included Paul Camenisch, Albert Müller and Hermann Scherer. 1926-29 he led the glass window at the newly built church of St. Anthony in Basle with Hans Stocker. In 1927 he returned to Basel. 1933 co-founder of the Basel Artists Association Group 33 Since 1938, he had his own stained glass workshop at Birsstrasse in Basel.
