Otto VI, Count of Tecklenburg

Otto VI. of Tecklenburg († 1388 ) was from 1360/67-1388 Count of Tecklenburg and by marriage of Mr. Rheda.

Life

Otto VI. of Tecklenburg, was born the only son of Count Nicholas I of Tecklenburg and Helene von Oldenburg- Wildeshausen, daughter of Count Otto.

After the death of his father 1360/67 Otto VI was. Count of Tecklenburg -Lingen - Ibbenbüren and from 1367 also pledge owner of Iburg. In his many feuds he won the reign Rheda and the bailiwicks Clarholz, Marienfeld and Herzebrock of lip and could claim this as well.

From 1372-1379, he was administrator of the diocese of Osnabrück and sat Bishop Melchior reasons of power politics in pensions. 1379 Otto VI was. besieged in Rheda and had to retire.

Marriage and issue

Otto VI. 1362 married Adelheid of Lippe († 1380 ), daughter of the noble Lord Bernhard of Lippe V., heir to the rule Rheda. Originate from this marriage
