Otto VII, Count of Tecklenburg

Otto VII of Tecklenburg († 1450 ) was from 1426 to 1450, Count of Tecklenburg.

Life

Otto VII was the only son, the son of Count Nicholas II of Tecklenburg and Elisabeth Anna von Moers, daughter of Count Friedrich III. born of Moers.

After the death of his father Otto VII succeeded him as Count of Tecklenburg. He reigned as the Father and constantly feuding led to make the loss of his father back. This failed him and he fell into debt further. The decline was accelerated by the county.

Marriage and descendants

Otto VII married around 1428 Ermengard of Hoya Nienburg, daughter of Count Eric I of Hoya. From this marriage came

  • Adelheid († 1477 ), married ( 1453) by Gerhard IV of Oldenburg ( † 1500)

After the death Ermengards married Otto VII Aleidis of Plesse, daughter of Gottschalk VIII of Plesse. Came from this second marriage
