The Ourcq is a river in France, which runs into the regions of Picardy and Ile- de -France. It rises in the municipality of Courmont, dehydrated in an arc from northwest to west to southwest and flows after 87 kilometers of the municipal boundary of Lizy -sur- Ourcq and Mary- sur -Marne as a right tributary of the Marne. On his way to the Ourcq crosses the departments of Aisne, Oise and Seine- et- Marne.
The river supplies - together with the sources of Rungis - the city of Paris with drinking water.

Shipping
The Ourcq, on the initiative of Napoleon I redirected the beginning of the 19th century, partly and removed for shipping. In the section between the village of Silly- la -Poterie and Mareuil -sur- Ourcq, the river was channeled to a length of 11 kilometers and set up with the help of three locks for freight traffic. In the section between Mareuil -sur Ourcq and Lizy -sur- Ourcq was built parallel to the river as a side channel of the Canal de l' Ourcq, of the valley of the Ourcq leaves at Lizy -sur- Ourcq and continues to in the urban area of Paris.
