Đovani Roso

Djovani Roso (Hebrew ג'ובאני רוסו ) ( born November 17, 1972 in Split, then SFR Yugoslavia, now Croatia; Italian spelling Giovanni Rosso ) is a former Croatian football player of Italian descent.

The attacking midfielder comes from the youth of Hajduk Split and started his professional career in 1994 at NK Zagreb. For the season 1996/97 he moved to Israel, where he plays since then; Roso Hapoel Be'er Sheva joined, with whom he was in 1997 Israeli Cup winner.

He then went to Hapoel Haifa FC, ​​where he played until 2000 and in 1998 was Israeli champion. Rosos next stop was Beitar Jerusalem, where, however, kept him only one season.

For the 2001/02 season Roso moved to Maccabi Haifa for the first time, for it could reach 23 goals in 101 games until 2005. During this time Roso was with the club four times Israeli champion (2001, 2002, 2004, 2005). It was followed by a move to Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he scored one goal in 22 games. In the 2007 /08 season Roso was playing at Maccabi Haifa before moving after a year back to his youth club Hajduk Split, where he ended his career in the summer of 2009.

Between 2002 and 2004 Roso played a total of 19 times for the Croatian national football team. He stood in the Croatian squad for the 2004 European Championships and came in the course of the tournament in all three games of the team to use.

1999 and 2002 he was chosen as the player of the year each of Israel. Meanwhile Roso also has Israeli citizenship.
