The Owda ( Ovda International Airport ) airport is around 40 km north- west of the seaside resort of Eilat in Israel on the Red Sea, in a large plain in the southern part of the Negev Desert. The airport was opened in 1981 and is used by both military and civilian charter flights from Europe. The ICAO code of the airport is LLOV, the IATA code VDA. The airport has two start and runways with lengths of 3,000 and 2,600 m.
