Oxford Calculators

The Oxford Calculators (or Mertonian Calculators ) were a group of thinkers in the 14th century at Merton College and the University of Oxford, who pushed for a logical- mathematical approach to philosophical problems.

Main representative of the flow were Thomas Bradwardine, William Heytesbury, Richard Swineshead and John Dumbleton. They built on earlier work of Walter Burley and Gerard of Brussels.
