Oyasumi Punpun

Goodnight, Punpun (Japaneseおやすみ プンプン, Oyasumi Punpun ) is a manga series of the Japanese signatory Inio Asano. The work was translated into German, among others, and is classified in the genres of comedy, drama and coming of age.

Content

The series tells of the life of elementary school student Punpun, which has the shape of a bird. His encounter the usual problems of an eleven year old, also (his father violent, the mother at risk of suicide ) is his parents' house shattered, and often he flees from his everyday life in fantasy worlds. As with Aiko, a new girl comes to class, he falls in love for the first time seriously and finds it by interest in astronomy. With the end of the second strip, the action jumps to two years in Punpuns time as a middle school student.

Publication

The manga was published in 2007 in the magazine Young Sunday the publisher Shogakukan in Japan and moved in 2008 to magazine Big Comic Spirits of the same publishing house. In issue 48/2013 of the magazine, it was announced that the manga will end in the next issue on November 2, 2013.

The chapters were also summarized from August 2007 to December 2013 published in thirteen anthologies. The eleventh band sold over 80,000 times.

Kana brings the series out in French, Panini Comics in Italian and Taiwan Tohan in Chinese. A German translation has been published since March 2013 with five previous volumes by Tokyopop.
