Ozora

Ozora is a municipality in the small area Tamasi, situated in Tolna county in Hungary. The population is almost 1,600 (as of 2011 ).

History

The first written mention of the village is to be found in a document of the Bishop of Pécs from the year 1009. Pipo of Ozora settled here by permission of Sigismund of Hungary in 1416 he built a castle. The building is square of the form, two stories and has a large courtyard. The dimensions of the main building is 35 by 35 meters, the courtyard of the 17 times 17 meters. In 1491, the castle was badly damaged, but restored in 1520 by Ferenc Héderváry. 1848 achieved the Hungarian general Artúr Görgey in Ozora a significant victory during the Revolution.

In 2002, the Hungarian director György Pálfi shot his film Hukkle in Ozora with residents of the town as amateur actors. Since 2004, each year the psychedelic trance festival Ozora instead.
