P2PTV
Peer-to -peer TV (English peer " equals ", " coequal " ) or short P2PTV is a term for television over the Internet, this is done through a peer-to -peer network in which all participants received the video put streams simultaneously available to others.
In classical broadcasting, there is a central transmitting entity, the number of receivers with the same content supplied (multicast), and it is not intended that the receiver communicate on a large scale with the transmitter. In other words, the flow of information goes in only one direction - ie unidirectional - from sender to receiver.
P2PTV however, is based on a return channel capability, synchronous possible IP distribution network. Through the back channel regularly offers a comprehensive information flow away from the receiver, a client (receiver) (transmitter) can also occur as a server. Each node in the network acts thus simultaneously as transmitter and receiver. The advantage for a supplier of broadcast content is that it hardly needs to provide their own server capacities.
P2P -Next is a research project of the European Union, which deals with technical and legal issues of the distribution of television over Internet peer-to -peer networks.
