Geayi Pachypodium is a plant of the genus Pachypodium in the family of the dogbane family ( Apocynaceae ).
Description
Pachypodium densiflorum is a tree with a height of usually 4 to 5 m, rarely to 10 m. The plant is reinforced with white tomentose coated mandrels. The leaves are 40 cm long or sometimes longer and 2 cm wide. They are hairy and dark olive colored, the leaf margin is rolled down.
The flowers are in highly branched corymbs of about 1.5 cm long pedicles. They measure 2 inches in diameter, are white and have splaying Corolla lobe, so that the stamens are clearly highlighted.
The fruits are 16 cm long and measure 4 cm in diameter, the seeds are 8-10 mm in size.
Occurrence
The species is widespread in the south of Madagascar.
