Before use as a public recreational area with parking, toilets, picnic areas and access to the beach, the terrain under the name "Pacific Pines " should be tapped as building land. The 4.4 -acre state park with 180 meters of coastline located in a dune landscape with a tree inventory of spruce, coastal pine and alder, and various thimbles, lupines, ferns, mosses and lichens. These provide habitat for rodents such as squirrels and rabbits as well as skunks and raccoons.

In the beach areas mussels, crabs, seals and seabirds are found. The avifauna is represented by hawks, crows, ducks, geese, gulls, snipe birds, grouse, quail, woodpeckers, jays, wrens and hummingbirds.

Among the undesirable plants, which are classified as invasive, and thereby harm to biodiversity and habitat, is one of the broom. For the Pacific Pines State Park, there are plans to establish a permanent facility as a yurt as a location for an environmental education facility.
