Pacific County is a county located in the state of Washington, United States. Here live 20,984 inhabitants. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is South Bend.
Geography
The county has an area of 3169 square kilometers, of which 2416 square kilometers of land and 752 square miles ( 23.74 percent) of water. In Pacific County known for its oyster production Willapa Bay and the Leadbetter Point State Park and the Shoalwater Indian Reservation lie. Part of the Willapa Bay was found to be Willapa National Wildlife Refuge under protection. It is managed by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.

According to the census of 2000, there were 20,984 people in the county. There were 9,096 households and 5,885 families. The population density was 9 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 90.54 % White, 0.20 % African American, 2.44 % Native American, 2.08 % Asian, 0.09 % Pacific Islander residents from the and 1.83 % from other races groups; 2.82% were descended from two or more races. 5.01% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 9,096 households out of which 23.10% have children under the age of 18 living with them. 53.10 % were married couples living together, 7.90% had a female householder with no husband. 35.30 % were non-families. 29.50 % of all households and 14.30 % had someone living alone at the age of 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.27 and the average family size was 2.77.
Based on the county the population was spread out with 21.40 % under the age of 18, 6.00 % from 18 to 24, 21.20 % from 25 to 44 years, 28.90 % between 45 and 64 years and 22.60 % were 65 years old or older. The average age was 46 years. For every 100 females there were 98.30 males, 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.80 males.
