Paco Godia

Francisco " Paco" Godia Sales ( born March 21, 1921 in Barcelona, † 28 November 1990 ibid.), also known as "Chico" Godia, was a Spanish racing driver.

Godia was a wealthy businessman who began in 1945 with motorsport. First he started with sports car racing; as a private driver and partly as a member of the Maserati racing team he competed in the 1950 Formula 1 race. He had his first appearance at the Grand Prix of Spain in 1951, where he finished tenth with ten laps down. His best season was the 1956 season when he took six points at the GPs of Germany and Italy with two fourth places and WM - finished ninth. After an accident at the Grand Prix of France in the season 1958, he finished his career.

Later Godia was an art collector and founded a museum in Barcelona, ​​in addition to the reminiscences of his racing career and art objects can be seen. In addition, Godia involved in the construction of the Circuit de Catalunya, where since 1991 the Spanish Grand Prix will take place. Godia died in 1990 at the age of 69 years.
