Pädaste

Pädaste ( German Peddast ) is a village on the Estonian island of Muhu.

Pädaste located in the south of Muhu on the Gulf of Riga in the Baltic Sea. It belongs administratively to the municipality Muhu (Estonian Muhu vald ) in Saare County. The village has 48 inhabitants.

Manor Pädaste

Pädaste is known for its prestigious mansion with adjoining park and numerous outbuildings. It is one of the few Estonian manors that were built directly on the sea.

The manor was first mentioned in the 16th century. It was in the course of history, the aristocratic Baltic German family von Knorring, of Aderkas (from 1768) and of Buxhoeveden. 1875 the present mansion was built in the Neo-Gothic style. It was extensively renovated in 1996 and now serves as a luxury hotel.
