Rice finch ( Padda oryzivora )

Rice Finches ( Padda ) are a genus of the family of finches. Two species belong to this genus, which are very similar to each other. Characteristic of it is the massive beak, the simple Schnabelwinkelwülste and their very similar courtship behavior.

Spreads are the birds in southeastern Asia. The distribution areas of Sumatra, Malaysia, Borneo, Moluccas, Philippines and Taiwan, Zanzibar and Timor belongs. The distribution area of the Timor- rice Finks extends only to Timor and the eastern part of Lombok.

Occasionally, the two species that are very popular as ornamental birds, attributed to individual authors nor the nuns or the reed finches.
