Paddy Belton

Patrick " Paddy " Belton (* June 25, 1926, † 22 May 1987) was an Irish politician and sat from 1963 to 1977 for the Fine Gael in Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Irish Parliament.

Belton was elected on 30 May in 1963 under the by-election in the constituency of Dublin North - East for Fine Gael in the 17th Dáil Éireann and so occupied the vacant seat of his brother Jack died in February Belton new. In the years 1965, 1969 and 1973 Paddy Belton were each re-elected. In the elections 1977 the 21st Dáil, however, he could not defend his position.

Belton also belonged to the Dublin City Council and held on 3 July 1978 to June 1979, the Office of the Mayor of (Lord Mayor of Dublin).

Family

Paddy Belton came from a very politically active family. His father Patrick Belton was a deputy in Dáil Éireann. But Paddy Belton's brothers, Jack and Richard beat this career. Richards daughter Avril Doyle sat from 2004 to 2009 in the European Parliament.
