Página/12 (Spanish: page 12) is a national Argentine daily newspaper, published in Buenos Aires. Her style is often compared to the New Journalism, the newspaper is politically rather in the left political spectrum.

History and Concept

The newspaper was founded by Jorge Lanata, a famous Argentine journalists in 1987, making it one of the youngest newspapers in the country. The design was initially very sparse and limited to 16 pages that were printed in black and white. Ajar was the concept of the French satirical magazine Le Canard enchaîné. Since coming to power Néstor Kirchner of the newspaper was accused of describing the government overly positive. In May 2007, a press freedom prize was awarded by the part of the Spanish government funded organization Casa América Catalunya newspaper.

According to an article of the founder Lanata in the weekly newspaper Perfil took over 2007 media entrepreneur Rudy Ulloa, who operates several media of the Province of Santa Cruz and is a confidant of Mr. and Mrs. Kirchner, the newspaper said.

Among the influential employees of the newspaper Página/12 is one of the essayist and literary critic Horacio Verbitsky.
