The Pact ( Danish Original Title: Pagten ) is a 24 -part Danish youth and fairytale series by director Jesper W. Nielsen, who was shown as a Scandinavian Christmas series from 1 December 2009 daily on public television in Denmark. Following the example of the British Channel 4 each episode was accompanied by a continuously unlocked browser game. The transmitter DR1 thus achieved in the first week broadcast an average audience share of 37 percent. The pre-Christmas series was first broadcast in parallel also in HD. All episodes were available immediately after broadcast in full length and high resolution on the websites of the transmitter. In Germany they first aired on Arte in November 2012.

Action

The twelve- year-old Malte is an outsider. At school he is bullied and oppressed. He retreats into his world of little elves, the so-called Nisse. A Christmas drama by an evil Ice Witch, who wants to quench all the elves for ever and drives with the people a bad game. Only a secret pact, humans and elves have closed hundreds of years ago, the elves can still be saved. With the collapse of the Advent season, the elf girl Lyda has with her father and older brother hiding in the warm boiler room of the school. Meanwhile, her mother tries to stop the evil Iselin it to gain power over the Imp. Among the children in the school Lyda is particularly striking Malte. Malte and Lyda to renew the pact and thus defeat the Ice Witch.
