Pajrek

The castle Pajrek, German Bayereck was a hill fort on the Bohemian - Bavarian border, which is now only preserved as a ruin. It is located south of Nýrsko on a mountain ridge at 620 m height.

History

The first written mention of the castle is to be found in the year 1356. During the 15th century it was owned by the Janovský of Janovice in 1472 it was burned by the incident Bavaria. Jindrich Kostomlatský of Vřeskovice bought the castle in 1512 and left her partially get ready again. As a result Kostomlatský used it as a base for raids, after which he was executed in 1520 in Prague as a robber baron. Already in 1556 the castle was abandoned and decaying.

Plant

Parjek castle is situated on a mountain ridge that runs south of Nýrsko. In the north and south, the terrain drops off steeply, so that a natural protection exists. In addition, trenches were cut into the rock to protect the castle from attack. From the former plant today are only the remains of the prism- shaped main tower available, as well as a small tower with a square base, which were probably connected by a drawbridge.
