Palacio Legislativo (Uruguay)

The Legislative Palace is a building in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo.

Designed in neo-classical style building that has a wall panel of 24 different kinds of marble, located at the end of the diagonal from the Plaza Entrevero the Legislative Palace Avenida Libertador running and is the seat of the legislature of Uruguay. It thus accommodates the Asamblea General de Uruguay, divided into the two chambers Cámara de Cámara de Representantes and Senadores Parliament of Uruguay. Built in 1908-1925 Legislative Palace, whose foundation stone was laid on July 1, 1905 was inaugurated on 25 August 1925. This day was chosen as a tribute to the 100th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of Uruguay on 25 August 1825. Architect of Palacios was Vittorio Meano, the construction was carried out by the company G. y M. Debernardis. The interior design took Gaetano Moretti. In 1975 the building a National Monument ( Monumento Histórico Nacional) was declared.
