Pallas-class frigate (1808)

As Pallas- class ship a class of at least 59 frigates will be referred to, which was introduced in 1808 in France. Already in 1756 there was another Pallas class.

The ship class was designed by Jacques -Noël Sane in 1805 and was named after its first ship, the Pallas (1808 ), named this. Again after the goddess of wisdom The first launch was in 1808 that of Pallas, the last in 1821 that of Armide. Some ships were built on Dutch and Italian shipyards and supplied by the Dutch and Austrian Navy in service.

Features

All ships of this class were able to have up to 40 guns, 28 18 -pounders and 12 8 -pounders.
