Palliser Bay

The Palliser Bay is a bay at the southern end of the North Island of New Zealand to the southeast of Wellington. It extends over 40 km along the Cook Strait of Turakirae Head at the southern end of the Rimutaka Ranges to Cape Palliser, the southernmost point of the North Island.

The Ruamahanga River empties into the Bay after it has passed through the Lake Wairarapa and situated directly on the coast of the Bay Lake Onoke.

In the coastal region, there are several important geological objects such as the Putangirua Pinnacles, Kupe 's Sail and Whatarangi Bluff.
