Palmitas is a city in Uruguay.

Geography

It is located in western Uruguay in the field of the department of Soriano in the sectors 7 and 8 It is located north-west of Risso and Egaña. A few kilometers to the south runs the Arroyo del Águila, whose right-hand tributaries Ñandubay and del Cerro west and east of the town spring. Not far south of the town of Arroyo de las Palmitas has its source, northeast of Cerro de los Ladrones located.

History

On November 6, 1953 Palmitas was classified by the law Nr.12.021 in the " Pueblo " category.
