Palo (OLAP database)

The OLAP database Palo is a memory-based, multi-dimensional real-time OLAP Server (MOLAP ) to manage business or statistical datasets ( multidimensional database). In addition to query multidimensional data can also be written back and are consolidated in real time.

Palo keeps all the data entirely in main memory to provide fast access to the data. The server is open source. A Microsoft Excel add- in component manages communication between Palo OLAP database and Excel. There are in addition a complete ETL server and client libraries are available.

About APIs in Java, PHP, C / C or. Palo NET can be integrated into other software environments. In addition, an open source integration exists in OpenOffice.org under the name PalOOCa ( Palo for OpenOffice.org Calc).

In conjunction with Microsoft Excel Palo is mostly used as a business intelligence and performance management application for controlling and financial planning. Palo any number of Excel jobs online can be linked together, all access a central database ( " single point of truth ").

Palo is part of the Business Intelligence software solution Jedox. Data can be written there on the used front end back to the Palo OLAP database, both on a local Excel add in as well as via a web interface. The server is available as open source and proprietary software.

The MOLAP server Palo is developed by the company Jedox from Freiburg im Breisgau.
