Palü Lake

The Lake Palu ( Lagh as Palu, dt Palüsee ) is a lake in the Swiss canton of Graubünden at the foot of Piz Palu.

The Lake Palu is largely fed by the Palü and therefore also has the milky color of the water. After 1926 a dam was built, it serves the power plant Palu as underground storage. 1993-94 the heavily silted lake was dredged and created a gravel trap, which is to protect the reservoir from the natural sediment (rocks and sand). The sediment is transported to the mountain stream Cavagliasco.
