Pandion I.

Pandion (Greek Πανδίων ), son of Erichthonius and Praxithea, was named after his father King in Attica. With his wife Zeuxippe, his mother's sister, he became the father of two daughters, Procne and Philomela, and the twin sons of Erechtheus and Bute. To his reign Demeter and Dionysus to have come to Attica. Probably named after Pandion I. an Attic tribe Pandionis why he is to be found both in Athens and Delphi in the figure group of eponyms ( eponymous heroes ) (Marathon votive offering of the Athenians at Delphi ).

When it came to war with the Theban king Labdacus in border disputes, Pandion was amplified by the Thracian Tereus. In gratitude he gave his daughter Procne, Tereus wife.

After the death of his son Pandion, Erechtheus became his successor. Bute was chief priest of Athena and Poseidon Erechteischen.
