List of kings of Athens

As Kekropiden (also: Erechthiden after Erechtheus ) is called by the king Cecrops I. founded by Attica dynasty. This includes after the ancient historians Kastor of Rhodes, Eratosthenes of Cyrene, a total of 15 kings. The very existence of these kings is controversial.

Cecrops I. married Aglauros, the daughter of the king of Attica Aktaios and thus gained the throne.

The Kekropiden were replaced by the Melanthiden.
