Pangoa District

The Peruvian district Pangoa is one of the eight districts in the region of Junín, the zusammenes form the province of Satipo. He belongs to the known as " VRAEM " river valleys of the Apurimac, the Ene and the Mantaro and is repeatedly the scene of clashes between the Peruvian armed forces, drug criminals and Sendero Luminoso. Founded in the district on October 1, 1962.

District capital is San Martín de Pangoa.

In the 2007 census, 29 595 inhabitants were counted.

Highest place in the district is " interandino ", which is 1,491 meters above sea level.
