The Rio Panuco is 510 km long river in Mexico. The Rio Panuco is caused by a confluence of Moctezuma and Tamuín River in the state of San Luis Potosí, to the east of central Mexico. Hydrological it is thus part of the Tula - Moctezuma - Panuco system. It flows into the Gulf of Mexico near the town of Panuco, which is about 10 km from the city of Tampico. The first European Juan de Grijalva discovered in 1518 the river.
