Paolo Cirino Pomicino

Paolo Cirino Pomicino ( born September 3, 1939 in Naples ) is an Italian politician. He was Prime Minister from 1988 to 1992 in Italy and 2004 to 2006 on the European Parliament.

Life

Cirino Pomicino was born the fifth of seven children. The film director Franco Cirino (1926-1979) and the actor Bruno Cirino (1936-1981) were his brothers. Paolo Cirino Pomicino studied medicine and surgery, specializing in Neuropsychiatry.

In 1976, he was first elected for the Christian Democrats in the Camera dei deputati which he served until 1994. 1983 to 1988 he headed the Haushaltssauschuss. 1988 to 1989 he was in the government Ciriaco De Mita Minister of Public Service ( Ministro della Funzione Pubblica ) and from 1989 to 1992 under Giulio Andreotti Budget Minister ( Ministro del Bilancio e della Programmazione Economica ).

He is married and has two children, including the film director Ilaria Cirino. In the film Il Divo, he was represented by Carlo Buccirosso.
