Paradisio

Paradisio was a Belgian Euro dance band that was active from 1994 to 2003. Her biggest success was the song Bailando from the year 1996.

Band History

When the two Belgian music producer Patrick Samoy and Luc Rigaux, known as Unity Power or Unitiy mixer, mid-90s coincided with the coming of Spain singer Marisa Garcia Asensio, they decided to call the music project Paradisio to life. With a mixture of Euro Dance and Spanish rhythms and Spanish vocals by Asensio they went in the summer of 1995 with the debut single Un clima idéal at the start and had their first chart hit with it.

The following year, the single Bailando followed. After the song was adopted still hesitant in the French speaking part of Belgium at the beginning of the year, came in summer then the big breakthrough. Half a year after charting it reached with 8th place, the highest position of Wallonia charts and in Flanders it was five weeks at number 2 Then Bailando was also published in France, it was also there at # 4 and sold nearly half a million times. The greatest success is celebrated Paradisio then but in the spring and summer of 1997 in Northern Europe. In Sweden, Norway and Finland, the song was a number -one hit. In Sweden Bailando became one of the most successful singles ever and was awarded with triple platinum. In Italy, the song reached place in the charts of Musica e dischi 1

In Germany, the song was also a number -one hit, but only in a 1998 cover version of the Dutch music project Loona, which came in at number three in Austria. The song was then still covered MORE times, in 2006, were Disco Bee with a Discomix in Austria and again in the charts successful ( 25th place ).

The next single from Paradisio Bandolero was, but in the success of Bailando a little went down. Only the following publication Vamos a la discoteca! could once again continue the great hit and reached the top 10 in the north and in Belgium and France, the Top 20 in late 1997 appeared the album Paradisio, but that was only moderately successful.

1998, was not as good as in previous years. The Singles Dime como and Paseo were found only among the "also rans" and before the release of the Samba del diablo in the summer of 1999, the singer García Asensio by Sandra De Gregorio was replaced. A further chart success was no longer there, however, the single propaganda in 2000 was still a moderate success.

In 2003 the project was again launched entirely new. Producers were this time AB Logic (Peter Gillis and Jacques Bultinck ) and the singer was Maria del Rio, but Luz de la luna was finally the last release of this project at the end of almost 10 years of existence.

2009, there was again a new version of Bailando in a Belgian TV show named Paradisio what but nothing more was known.
