Paralia (Greek Παραλία ( f sg ) ) is a small town on the Gulf of Thermaikos about 8 km west of Katerini in the Greek region Central Macedonia.

The town was founded in 1923 after the population exchange agreed in the Treaty of Lausanne as Vromeróskala ( Βρωμερόσκαλα ) of refugees from Cius. The name change took place in Paralia 1950. Through spin-off from the neighboring town of Kallithea Paralia 1966 independent rural community ( kinotita ) and 1997 Incorporation of Kallithea and Peristasi municipality ( dimos ). With the administrative reform in 2010 was incorporated into the city Paralia Katerini, where it has since formed a district with three villages.

The village itself offers Paralia except the central church of Agia Fotini ( Αγία Φωτεινή ) directly by the sea and the small port on the southern end of the village no attractions: the beach on the Gulf of Thermaikos is very nice. The place is artificially grown ' and offers straight in the season many tourists a variety of tavernas, bars and discos. We must here, however, do not expect originally greek life.

From Paralia numerous trips are offered, for example, in the well, 70 km away city of Thessaloniki ( which is also where the airport), the archaeological site of Dion at the foot of the 2917 meter high Mount Olympus to the Meteora Monasteries in about 150 km from the town of Kalambaka or also a two day trip to Delphi and Athens. The best time for tourists is mid-July and early August, as the water is at its cleanest.

In the summer months runs from Paralia Katerini and every 30 minutes a bus, but this leaves in the center of Katerini and not at the bus station.
